Betadine Ointment belongs to the group of medicines called antiseptics and disinfectants. It is used for the treatment and prevention of infection in wounds.

It is also used as first aid for burns, minor cuts, abrasions, blisters, and insect bites.

This ointment is intended for topical application only. It is not intended for oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal use. It is not intended to be used in deep wounds or clean surgical wounds.
