Xone 125 MG Injection 1 is used for:

• Management of meningitis, an inflammation of the brain and spinal cord membranes

• Control of pneumonia, a lung infection

• Management of skin and soft tissue infections

• Control of urinary tract infections, which can affect the bladder, urethra, ureters or kidneys

• Management of intra-abdominal infections

• Control of gonorrhoea, a sexually transmitted infection

• Management of bone and joint infections

• Control of septicemia, an infection in the blood

Administer Xone 125 MG Injection 1 as follows:

• A healthcare professional administers the medicine in a hospital or clinical setting.

• It is given as an intravenous infusion or deep intramuscular injection.

• Alternate the injection site for repeated doses.

• Continue the full course of treatment as your doctor prescribes, even if symptoms improve earlier. This prevents bacteria from continuing to grow, leading to a relapse of the infection.

Xone 125 MG Injection 1 is administered either intravenously or via an intramuscular route.

Xone 125 MG Injection 1 contains Ceftriaxone (125 mg), which works as follows:

• Inhibiting Bacterial Cell Wall Synthesis: Ceftriaxone acts by blocking the synthesis of peptidoglycan - an integral component of the bacterial cell wall. This process involves binding to and deactivating penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), enzymes found on the inner membrane of bacterial cell walls.

• Inducing Bacterial Cell Death: Proper cell wall formation is prevented once PBPs are deactivated. This leads to a weakened cell wall, causing lysis or bursting of the bacteria cells and, ultimately, their death.

• Broad Spectrum Antibiotic Action: Ceftriaxone exhibits a broad spectrum of activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It remains highly stable even in beta-lactamases (enzymes produced by some bacteria to render antibiotics ineffective).
