Composition

Norethisterone (5 Mg)

Prevent-N Tablet is used to treat painful and heavy bleeding, irregular periods, premenstrual syndrome(PMS), endometriosis, polymenorrhea, etc. These tablets are a synthetic version of the hormone progesterone that is naturally present in the body and regulates menstrual cycles.

Its falls under the category of synthetic second-generation progestins. It is also used used to treat various menstrual problems.

Before starting this medication, inform your doctor of any pre-existing medical conditions you have, follow the prescribed dosage and frequency, and report any side effects to your doctor.

It is used to treat a range of menstrual issues, including irregular, heavy, or painful periods, endometriosis (abnormal growth of uterine lining), and premenstrual syndrome (PMS). It also helps manage symptoms of fibroids, menstrual cramps, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Directions for Use of Prevent N Tablet 10

Take the tablet with a glass of water.
Swallow the tablet as a whole, do not crush or chew the tablet.
It can be taken with or without food.
Take it in the dosage suggested by your doctor.
It can be taken only at the appearance of symptoms.
Follow the instructions provided by your doctor or refer to the package insert for specific dosing guidelines.

Prevent-N Tablet is administered orally.

Prevent-N Tablet may cause certain side effects, although not everyone experiences them.

Prevent-N Tablet contains the following component:

Norethisterone (5mg) – It is an artificial progesterone version, which works in the pelvic area to change how the cervix and uterus function. It also stops certain hormones in the brain that help eggs mature and get released. Basically, it acts like progesterone, which is important for a regular menstrual cycle.

Pregnancy

Breastfeeding

Prevent-N Tablets are given to breastfeeding women only if the doctor thinks that the benefits are greater than risks. Please consult a doctor if you are breastfeeding.

Alcohol

Liver

Prevent N tablet can interact with the following medicines:

Anticonvulsants like Carbamazepine, Phenytoin : It may reduce the effectiveness of these seizure medications.
Antiviral drugs like Nelfinavir, Ritonavir : There could be altered absorption or metabolism of antiviral drugs when taken with Prevent-N Tablet affecting their efficacy.
Medicine for Cushing’s syndrome like Aminoglutethimide: This tablet may impact the effectiveness of Aminoglutethimide in treating Cushing's syndrome.
Antibiotics like Co-trimoxazole, Rifampicin, Tetracycline : Interaction with Prevent-N Tablet may reduce antibiotic efficacy or promote antibiotic resistance.
Immunosuppressants like Ciclosporin : This medicine may lead to fluctuations in Ciclosporin levels, affecting its immune-suppressing effects and increasing the risk of toxicity.

Store this tablet at room temperature (15-25ºC).
Protect the medicine from heat and light.
Keep tablet away from the reach of children.
Do not use this tablet after the expiry date has passed.

Include fiber-rich foods like whole grains, fruits, and vegetables in your diet.
Avoid refined carbohydrates that are high in sugars.
Replace animal proteins (like eggs, fish, and meat) with vegetable protein sources (nuts, seeds, and beans).
Maintain a healthy weight, do moderate exercise regularly.
Avoid smoking and alcohol intake.
