Oxop Dx 0.3/0.1 % Eye Drops 10 ML are used for the following:

• Managing bacterial eye infections

• Controlling inflammation linked with bacterial eye infections

• Handling superficial bacterial infections of the eye and its surrounding structures

• Combating a range of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Haemophilus influenzae, which often cause eye infections

Administer Oxop Dx 0.3/0.1 % Eye Drops 10 ML following these steps:

• Clean your hands before using the drops.

• Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid.

• Hold the dropper above the eye, squeeze out a drop, and let it fall into the gap between your lower lid and your eye.

• Avoid touching the dropper tip against your eye or anything else to keep it germ-free.

• Close your eyes for 2–3 minutes after administering the drop.

• If you use more than one type of eye drops, wait for at least 5 minutes before applying the next one.

• Always consult your doctor for specific advice on usage frequency and duration.

The effectiveness of Oxop Dx 0.3/0.1 % Eye Drops 10 ML stems from its two active components:

• Ofloxacin (0.3%): This antibiotic belongs to the fluoroquinolone group and acts by inhibiting enzymes in the bacteria that are crucial for their growth and multiplication: DNA gyrase and topoisomerase. By doing so, it hampers bacterial replication, transcription, repair, and recombination leading to bacterial cell death and hence managing the infection.

• Dexamethasone (0.1%): As a corticosteroid, dexamethasone helps control inflammation by blocking the release of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes. It decreases capillary permeability, prevents white blood cells from moving into areas of inflammation, and reverses increased capillary permeability. This results in relief from redness, itching, and swelling associated with inflammation in the eyes.

• Keep Oxop Dx 0.3/0.1 % Eye Drops 10 ML in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and light.

• The ideal storage temperature is below 25 degrees Celsius.

• After opening, use the eye drops within four weeks. Discard any remaining solution after this period.

• Always keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.
