Monocef 2g Injection 1

Monocef 2g Injection 1 is used for management of the following:

• Lung infections

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

• Gonorrhoea

• Pelvic inflammatory disease

• Ear infections

• Blood infection management

• Bone and joint infection control

• Abdominal infections

• Meningitis (an infection of the membranes covering the brain and spinal cord)

• Used prior to certain surgeries to prevent post-operative infections

To administer Monocef 2g Injection 1, follow these steps:

• A healthcare professional administers this injection as an intravenous infusion or as an intramuscular injection.

• Make sure the injection site is clean and free from any inflammation or infection.

• A healthcare professional should monitor you during administration for any immediate allergic reactions.

Monocef 2g Injection 1 is administered intravenously or via an intramuscular route.

Monocef 2g Injection 1 contains ceftriaxone (2000 mg), which acts on the body as follows:

• Interferes with Cell Wall Formation: Ceftriaxone works by blocking enzymes that are responsible for building peptidoglycan - a key component of bacterial cell walls.

• Leads to Bacterial Cell Death: By inhibiting these enzymes, ceftriaxone disrupts the integrity of the bacterial cell wall. This eventually leads to the death of bacterial cells and helps manage the infection.

• Store Monocef 2g Injection 1 at room temperature.

• Keep it away from direct light and avoid freezing.

• After mixing, the medicine can be kept at room temperature for 24 hours or in a refrigerator for 3-4 days.

• Keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Check the expiry date before use, and do not use past this date.

• If you're managing urinary tract infections (UTIs), increase your water intake. This helps flush bacteria from your urinary system.

• For skin and soft tissue infections, maintain good hygiene practices, including regular handwashing. This can help prevent further bacterial spread.
