Composition

Loratadine (10 Mg)

Lorinol-10 Tablet belongs to the anti-histamine group of medicines. It is mainly used to treat the allergic symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis and perennial allergic rhinitis such as sneezing, itchy or runny nose, and itchy or burning eyes.

It is also used to get relief from symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria which is also known as hives or nettle rash.

Inform your doctor duly about any pre-existing diseases and mention all the medicines. Your doctor will carefully review and decide regarding the dosage & frequency of use of Lorinol-10 Tablet.

Lorinol-10 Tablet is used to provide relief from allergic symptoms in the following conditions:

Allergic rhinitis
Perennial allergic rhinitis
Urticaria

Directions for Use of Lorinol 10 Tablet 10

Take the Lorinol-10 Tablet with one whole glass of water.
Swallow the tablet as a whole; do not crush or chew it.
Take this tablet at fixed times each day to maintain a consistent level of medication.

Lorinol-10 Tablet is taken orally.

The common side effects of Lorinol-10 Tablet include:

Nervousness
Tiredness
Drowsiness
Increased appetite
Difficulty sleeping

Managing the Side Effects:

Most of the side effects of this medicine are usually mild and often do not require urgent medical attention. They improve with continued usage of the medicine. However, if the side effects persist or worsen or something other than that listed above occurs, inform your doctor immediately.

Lorinol-10 Tablet contains the main constituent:

Loratadine (10 mg): It is a selective inhibitor of H1 receptors and a competitive histamine antagonist. Histamine is responsible for actions like vasodilation, bronchoconstriction, secretion of gastric acid, and inflammation. It blocks the H1 receptors in the various regions. It stops edema and flushing of the skin, decreases pain and itching, and causes bronchodilation.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant, consult your doctor before taking Lorinol-10 Tablet. Your doctor will decide if it can be prescribed or not.

Breastfeeding

Do not take this medicine if you are breastfeeding a child. This medicine passes out in breast milk, so be careful about its use. Please consult your doctor before using it.

Alcohol

When alcohol is consumed while taking this medicine, the mixing of both can increase the effect of alcohol.

Liver

Caution should be exercised while taking this medicine if suffering from liver impairment. It is advised to inform your doctor about liver issues if this medicine is prescribed to you.

Kidney

Caution should be exercised while taking this medicine if suffering from kidney impairment. It is advised to inform your doctor about kidney issues if this medicine is prescribed to you.

Using Machines & Driving

Lorinol-10 Tablet can make you feel drowsy or tired. It is advised to refrain from driving or operate heavy machinery after taking this tablet.

Allergy

If you are allergic to loratadine or any constituents of this medicine, then tell your doctor and do not take it. If you know you are allergic to this tablet, inform your doctor, who will advise you on further use.

Children

This tablet is indicated for use in children over 6 years only or children who weigh over 30 kg. It is advised to consult your doctor before giving this medicine to children.

Older Patients

The dosage adjustment may be required in elderly patients who have issues with liver diseases. Be cautious about its use and consult your doctor.

Drug-Drug Interactions

Lorinol-10 Tablet may interact with the following medications which include:

Cytochrome P450 inhibitors such as amiodarone, amitriptyline, chloramphenicol, cimetidine. The concomitant use of this medicine along with the cytochrome P450 inhibitors may have effect on their absorption.

Drug-Disease Interactions

Lorinol-10 Tablet may interact with the following diseases:

Asthma or COPD: The use of this medicine can cause flare-ups of the symptoms of these diseases.
Liver diseases: The use of this medicine in patients with liver diseases can cause its extensive metabolization.
Kidney diseases: The use of this medicine in patients with kidney diseases can have increased levels of this medicine.

Daily Dose

The dose of Lorinol-10 Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage may change based on individual factors such as the severity of the condition and response to treatment. It is essential to follow the prescribed dosage and not exceed it without consulting your doctor.

Over Dose

If anybody has taken an excessive dosage of Lorinol-10 Tablet by accident, it is essential to get immediate medical attention from your doctor or nearby hospital. The symptoms of an overdose include a fast or over-pounding heartbeat, drowsiness, headache, and unusual body movements.

Missed Dose

Protect yourself from cold temperatures and humid conditions to avoid allergic rhinitis.
