Fortius 40 Tablet 10 is used for:

• Lowering high levels of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol

• Reducing high levels of triglycerides and apolipoprotein B

• Improving low HDL cholesterol levels

• Slowing down the progression of atherosclerosis, a condition where arteries harden due to fatty deposits

• Lowering the risk of heart attack, stroke, and death from heart disease in individuals with coronary heart disease, diabetes, peripheral vascular disease or multiple risk factors

Follow these instructions while taking your Fortius 40 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• You can take your dosage with or without food.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Always follow your doctor's recommended dose.

• Do not stop this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Fortius 40 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Fortius 40 Tablet 10 contains rosuvastatin (40 mg) which has a specific mode of action:

• HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibition: Rosuvastatin acts by competitively suppressing an enzyme named HMG-CoA reductase in your body. This enzyme plays a crucial part in creating cholesterol.

• Decreases Cholesterol Levels: By inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme and increasing the number of LDL receptors on liver cell membranes, rosuvastatin effectively reduces cholesterol levels in the blood and enhances the breakdown of LDL cholesterol.
