Deriva-CMS Gel is used for the following:

• Management of acne vulgaris: This condition is characterised by the presence of pimples on the skin.

• Reduction of inflammatory acne: These are raised, red breakouts that are painful and filled with pus.

• Decrease in non-inflammatory acne lesions: These include blackheads and whiteheads.

• Prevention of pore clogging: This helps to reduce the chances of developing new pimples.

• Control of Propionibacterium acnes: The medicine reduces the bacterial population contributing to acne inflammation and development.

Administer Deriva-CMS Gel as follows:

• Make sure your skin is clean and dry before application.

• Apply a thin layer of the gel on affected areas once daily, preferably in the evening or as advised by the doctor.

• Avoid contact with eyes, lips and mucous membranes during application.

• After applying the gel, remember to wash your hands to prevent spreading the gel to other parts of your body.

Deriva-CMS Gel contains two active ingredients that work synergistically to combat acne:

• Adapalene (0.1%): This compound binds to specific nuclear receptors in your body known as retinoic acid receptors (RARs). This action helps control cell growth and reduces inflammation, thus preventing the clogging of pores which can lead to the formation of acne lesions.

• Clindamycin (1%): This antibiotic inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to a specific part of susceptible bacteria known as 50S ribosomal subunits. This action reduces the population of bacteria that contribute to acne development and inflammation, primarily Propionibacterium acnes.

• Store Deriva-CMS Gel at a temperature below 25°C.

• Keep away from direct light and excessive heat.

• Avoid freezing the product.

• Always keep it out of reach of children.

• Include foods rich in antioxidants, like berries, carrots, and spinach, in your diet. These help improve skin health and could further assist in managing acne.
