Contraindications

• If a dose is missed, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose.

• In case you happen to put a few extra drops of this combination in your eye, do not panic. Rinse your eyes with clean water at room temperature. If any symptoms persist or worsen, inform your doctor.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this combination. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• For minor irritation at the application site, applying a cold compress may provide relief.

• If experiencing dryness, using a simple moisturiser (free from fragrances and irritants) might help alleviate discomfort.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Gentamicin + Hydrocortisone may cause temporary blurred vision when used as eye drops. It is advised to avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until your vision is clear.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• The safety of Gentamicin + Hydrocortisone during pregnancy and lactation has not been established. Use only if prescribed by your doctor after assessing potential risks and benefits.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with severe renal impairment need to use this combination with caution owing to the potential risk of accumulating high levels of Gentamicin, which can be toxic.

• Those with pre-existing severe allergies should be cautious due to potential hypersensitivity reactions.

Special Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations

• Ensure regular hand washing to prevent spreading infection when using topical forms of this combination on infected skin areas.

• Wear loose clothing over treated skin areas to avoid irritation and facilitate air circulation.
