Contraindications

• Gabapentin + Lidocaine / Lignocaine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to either Gabapentin or Lidocaine / Lignocaine.

• It should also not be used by patients with Adams-Stokes syndrome or severe heart blockage. Patients with severe renal impairment requiring haemodialysis are also advised against using this combination.

• Gabapentin + Lidocaine / Lignocaine may interact with oral medications that are CYP3A4 inhibitors or inducers (such as ketoconazole, erythromycin).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Overdose of Gabapentin + Lidocaine / Lignocaine is unlikely as it is intended for external use only. Using the prescribed dosage is recommended to avoid any side effects.

• If you forget to apply this medication, do it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and usually go away after discontinuing the medicine. However, if you experience severe side effects or worsening symptoms, consult your doctor immediately.

• To minimise skin irritation, apply the cream on clean and dry skin.

• Applying a cold compress can help alleviate symptoms of localised swelling or itching.

• This medication may cause side effects like dizziness and drowsiness which may affect your ability to drive or operate heavy machinery.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Caution is advised in elderly patients, as well as those with severe kidney or liver disease, or people with heart problems.
