Contraindications

• Amoxicillin + Clavulanic Acid + Lactic Acid Bacillus is contraindicated in patients with severe hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins, or beta-lactams.

• It is also contraindicated in individuals who have a history of cholestatic jaundice or hepatic dysfunction associated with prior use of this combination.

Other Medications to Avoid

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of this medicine may result in severe side effects such as severe diarrhoea (pseudomembranous colitis), allergic reactions (anaphylaxis, serum sickness), liver dysfunction (cholestatic jaundice), blood disorders (anaemia, thrombocytopenia), kidney disorders (interstitial nephritis), and central nervous system effects (convulsions).

• If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience severe side effects or worsening symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• For managing diarrhoea, ensure you stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids.

• If you experience nausea or indigestion, try taking this medication with or after meals.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness. If you experience these side effects, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you feel well.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Amoxicillin + Clavulanic Acid + Lactic Acid Bacillus should only be used in pregnancy if needed. As low levels may be excreted in breast milk, caution is advised for breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before using this medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• This medicine should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment as dose adjustment may be required.

• Caution should also be exercised in patients with hepatic impairment and those with a history of gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis.
